Law Enforcement – The Last Reason Weed Isn’t Legal

The greatest resistance to full legalization of marijuana is coming from law enforcement, who get money specifically for fighting drugs. We discuss the reaso…

  1. Follow the money.
Retired cops already have their pensions securely, and so may speak more
truly than cops still within the force.
LISTEN to the retired cops more.

  3. According to the 2011 DOJ NDIC report entitled “The Economic Impact
of Illicit Drug Use on American Society” In one year the economy on a State
& Federal level directly lost 193 billion dollars in one year.

DOJ got a large slice of the pie ~ 50 billion, and prisons (including
private ones like the ones Dick Cheney had large investments in) got about
the same. Also on the list was rehabs and hospitals. Last major chunk
taxable wages lost from incarceration. No mention of the stifling of job
markets from destroying federal education loans, or heavy restriction from
    the job market.

No mention at all about possible revenue from legalization and
regulation. I believe the DEA gets around 100 million just to kill wild
growing outdoor plants. The Office of National Drug Control Policy- whose
job is to fight any attempts to legalize controlled substances gets around
    15 million.

Not very surprising the DEA has been for decades ignoring requests to
reschedule from the AMA, NIH to make study easier. Nor is it surprising
that they ignore their own administrative law judge- when the umbrella they
fall under, the DOJ is getting 50 billion plus seized assets annually. Its
really not a surprise that a police chief will get on TV and spew rhetoric
for a two decade old pamphlet when they are looking over the budget and how
to keep as many of theirs working as they can… Nor is it surprising the
DOJ is working with Mexican cartels, that the CIA used to spread crack on
the streets- that our soldiers are guarding poppy fields which are used to
make opiate derivatives by big pharm somehow. It is not just the
criminals making money hand over fist on this stupid war which only creates
violence and strife in the streets.

By the way folks Obama or any president appoints the head of the DOJ
who absolutely could pressure the DOJ into rescheduling and end this farce
over night. Congress could too but they will not. Just look at the
campaign contributions to people like Lamar Smith (R) who single handed
blocked a resolution (HR 2306) to remove marijuana entirely from the
controlled substance list. Almost all of his major donors are from
pharmaceutical corporations and alcohol. Many of the pill pushers
specialize in treating the side effects of chemo.

Stop letting these criminal syndicates walk all over us by falling for
    well intentioned rhetoric.

  5. There is talk of how much money the government is loosing by marijuana
being illegal, but I disagree. The government and private enterprise make
a lot of money of marijuana being illegal. By that I mean the drug testing
companies, for profit prisons and the police forces who say they need more
funding to combat illicit drug use. As long as these forces have a say in
federal and local governments then it may never be legal.. It’s not about
freedom to these people but the money and power. Even if it is legalized,
companies will still be able to drug test their employees and cops will
still be able to harass any driver they want on suspicion of DUI. As far
as I know, there has not been a single auto accident that was directly
caused by a driver under the influence of marijuana, while drunk drivers
cause auto accidents every day and there are shootings every day, but the
cops are mostly concerned about marijuana. Do you really think that any
thing about this is going to be fair and just! Come on people, this is
America, land of injustice and run amuck capitalism where money is
everything and getting worse. There is no chance of marijuana being legal
unless the profiteers can control it for maximum profits and haven help you
should you want to grow your own, or buy some not in a authorized and
licensed outlet with sky high prices.

bodies that they want to. Smuggling drugs into the country would still be
